After a tumultuous offseason the Cowboys have finally struck gold with the signing of former pro bowler Anthony Barr.

For months I have expressed my belief in Barr being able to elevate the Cowboys’ linebacker room to the next level and the team has taken heed, inking the star linebacker to a 1 year deal reportedly worth 3 million dollars.

The former 4 time pro bowler is a true three down linebacker he is excellent in both run support and pass coverage. Despite only playing in 11 games last season Barr accounted for 3 interceptions, 2 fumble recoveries, 2.5 sacks, 5 passes defended, 72 tackles, 3 tackles for loss, and 6 quarterback hits. His presence makes an already talented defensive unit even more potent and strengths the Cowboys’ chances of repeating as division champs and making a run in the playoffs.
