Ndamukong Suh has been one of the best interior lineman in the NFL for the last 12 seasons. While up in age, the 35 year old former 5 time all pro still has plenty left in the tank and would be an immediate improvement at the defensive tackle position for the Dallas Cowboys.

During his 2021 campaign Suh logged 27 tackles, 6 sacks, 7 tackles for loss, and 13 Quarterback hits while helping the Bucs defense finish 3rd in rushing yards allowed. The year prior Suh was also impressive; finishing the season with 44 tackles, 9 tackles for loss, 6 sacks and 19 quarterback hits.

Suh’s ability to penetrate the middle of opposing teams’ offensive line makes him a respectable pass rusher, but more importantly a prolific run defender. Even in his advanced age PFF still ranks Suh as one of the 25 best interior defenders in all of football.

The Cowboys have struggled stopping the run in recent years finishing 16th last season and getting gashed for 169 yards in their wildcard loss to the 49ers. The addition of Suh would greatly increase the Cowboys’ ability to stop the run and would also provide a veteran presence to help with the development of upstart defensive tackles Osa Odighizuwa and Neville Gallimore. With the Cowboys set to face a gauntlet of dominant runners such as Derek Henry, Johnathan Taylor, Joe Mixon, and Aaron Jones to name a few, it is imperative that the Cowboys fortify their run defense or risk losing before the season even starts.
